A friend was restoring an old guitar and needed a scratch plate for it.
To do the design, I stuck the old broken scratch plate on the flat bed scanner. From here I then traced around the ouline creating an SVG which was then imported to Easel for cutting.
Due to the cost of the material, and I was still sorting out the bugs in my CNC, it was decided to do a test cut on plywood.
The test cut turned out so good, that he decided to go with the plywood as a scratch plate instead. After being sanded and sealed, it came up rather nice.
The plan for the scratch plate is available on my Inventables account.
